Character Witness – Jamie Nash takes the Stand
You stand accused of being a big flirt, taking advantage of innocent young girls! Stefan Booth, is Jamie guilty?
So is Jamie guilty of being a complete womaniser?
Yes! Without a doubt!
Do you think he could change his ways? Would he be happy to be with just one woman?
Jamie likes a challenge, but he needs to meet his match soon, otherwise he’ll just work his way through the female population.
Is he only interested in sex?
I think initially he was, but he’s looking for something more now. Jamie has got this nervous sexual energy, which people misunderstand. Whenever he’s in trouble or under pressure, he tries to be funny or flirt with the girls. He can’t deal with emotion so he has to make light of it.
Could he be charged with being a bad brother?
Jamie loves Jodie to bits, but he has trouble showing it. He hasn’t had the chance to protect her yet, he just keeps his eye on her. When Jamie and Jodie bicker it’s just silly sibling rivalry stuff.
Do you think Jamie is homophobic?
I don’t think he ever was. When he was accused of that he was just in a situation he didn’t want anything forced upon him, but it doesn’t mean that he has anything against gay people.
Does he rely on his charm?
Yeah, it’s part of this nervous energy he has. Jamie uses it to worm his way out of situations he is uncomfortable with. It makes him quite funny though as he’s so predictable.
Do you think Jamie’s ego is as big as it appears?
No. There is a sensative side to him but he is afraid to show it.
Is Jamie guilty of being a lazy student or is he simple?
He’s not simple! I think he represents lots of students. Most of them are just like him – I know I was. I wouldn’t do any work until the very last week. I’m really bad with deadlines.
What are his best qualities?
He’s assertive. Jamie is an interesting character. I’d rather play him than just a really nice guy. I like making people laugh and it’s quite funny when he behaves like a dunce.
And what about his worst qualities?
He needs to grow up a bit where woman are concerned. And he needs to be more loyal to his friends. That’s very important.
The verdict? Guilty as charged – or at least his is until Jamie shows off a more caring side!
